Another week has passed in Sweden and we’re now three games into our season. Last weekend, we played Kramfors Alliance, a good team who had won their opening two games. One of which was against one of the favourites to win the league, Ostersund.
On Saturday, we knew had to be at the top of our game to win the match, and fortunately we did. Two early goals from Benny, our Manager and Elliot, our top goal scorer set us off in the right direction. A great team effort and good all round play help them both get two more goals each, to complete their hat-ricks. The score finished 6-1, and we are now top of the league with nine points.
Something that we have all grown to appreciate, even though they are extremely hard, are our weekly gym sessions with our personal trainer. Mats, the owner of two gyms – one in Sundsvall and one in Ange. Mats is our personal trainer who puts us through our paces every Wednesday. He is a really nice guy, but when he’s making you do a hundred press ups, sit ups, squats and pull ups it takes a lot of self-restraint to not call him unpleasant names!
As a result of our game being on Sunday this week instead of Saturday, we plan to spend the day in Sundsvall at a barbeque with friends and enjoy our day off. Hopefully the beautiful weather we’ve had most of this week will hold up and we can have a nice day.
This weekend, were playing IKF Holmsund, a team from Umea who are yet to win a game. We’re going to have to leave at six o’clock on Sunday morning, as it’s a five and half hour journey. Though Holmsund are bottom of the league, we cannot be complacent and think we don’t have to play well to win the game.
