Watching Instead of Playing

Hello readers,

Since we’ve come back from the break, we’ve had three consecutive midweek games, on top of our normal weekend league fixtures. And although playing so many games in quick succession makes you fitter, it can also take a lot out of you. Fortunately, from now until the end of the season we mostly have just weekend games and can get back to our usual training schedule.

On Sunday, a few of the boys from the team and I went to watch Ostersund play Kubikenborgs in Sundsvall. Before the game had kicked off we were all hoping for a draw or Kubikenborgs win. This would have given us a bit of breathing space because either result would have ensured that we stayed top of league.

To our dismay, Ostersund won 6-0 and got all three points without much opposition. Their performance and the way they won, in a very one sided game from the beginning, was something none of us expected.

They have just brought in two new players from the other Ostersund team in the Suprettan and don’t look like they’re going to drop many points from now until the end of the season. We’re going to have to be at our very best to beat them at the end of August, because it looks like that game will now decides who wins the league.

This weekend were playing Frisa Viljor, a team we beat 6-2 earlier in the season. However, I think they have two or three new players now and have picked up a few points since the break. We cannot afford to drop any points before the Ostersund game and cannot take anything for granted if we want to keep winning. Wish us luck.
