Hello readers,
On Saturday we met the team who are favourites to win the league, Ostersund. Having already lost one game this season, they knew that a win would put them level points with us. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case and we won the game 3-2.
The score line wasn’t a true reflection on the game however; Ostersund played much better than us for large periods of the game and deserve something out of the game. Luckily, when our chances came we converted them and we found ourselves 3-0 up with sixty minutes gone. Ostersund came back with two goals late on, to make it a tense end to the game but we saw the game out to get our fifth win in a row.
On Wednesday me and Adam got the chance to play for GIF Sundsvall U21 team, in a game against a team from Uppsala called IK Sirius. It was a really good opportunity and a chance for us to experience being in around a professional club. Unfortunately I got injured with the first 15 minutes of the game and had to be substituted but hopefully it’s something we’ll get to do again this season. As a result of us starting the season so well, there is a growing buzz about the team round the town and there’s a really up beat atmosphere about the place.
The weather has been really nice all week here, and on Sunday I think we’re going to host our first barbecue. The nice weather is a real change from when we first arrived and had to wear; coats, hats and gloves to ensure we didn’t freeze to death. Coincidentally, everyone I’ve spoken to seems to think that because the winter was so cold, that the summer is going to be even better than last year. As you can imagine this was music to my ears and is a nice chance from the disappointing summers we have in England!
