Everyone was buzzing after the game at the weekend. It was a great result against a tough Oldham side, and to win with such a margin was fantastic. Now we’ve got a week to prepare for a huge match against local rivals Burnley.
As usual our Monday morning consisted of a hard weights session with Geoff and then some small sided matches afterwards. As ever the matches were to a high standard with nobody prepared to give an inch.
The standard was upped even further by the presence of first teamer Paul McKenna who is training with us for the week as he steps up his rehabilitation from his groin injury. Paul McKenna is a class player so it’s great for the younger players like myself to train with someone who is so experienced. I did really well in the games making some good saves. There were some cracking goals put past me though as well. After training I went back to the digs for an hour on the Xbox before I had to go to coaching. The coaching session was really enjoyable. Simon and me got some mannequins out and did some deflection work. There were some cruel deflections for the younger lads, but some great saves as well.
