Tommy Spurr is poised to join Blackburn on a free transfer, BBC Radio Sheffield reports.
Spurr, who made over 200 appearances for his home-town club Sheffield Wednesday after coming through their youth ranks, joined Doncaster in the summer of 2011.
And despite featuring for Paul Dickov’s side in pre-season, the 25-year-old who can play at left-back or as a centre-back has failed to agree new terms to stay at the Keepmoat.
Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer is keen to bolster the left side of his defence following Martin Olsson’s departure to Norwich.
