Match: Preston North End U18 v Tranmere Rovers U18
Thursday was College as usual and Friday was match day once again as Tranmere Rovers visited Springfields. It was our first game at Springfields since before Christmas when we beat Burnley 2-1. Tranmere have a reputation for playing good football so it was a game we were looking forward to.
Before the match I went out with Timmsy and trained with Grzegorz Szamotulski for the first time. We all call him Szamo for short as his full name is a bit of a mouthful. After training we got ready for the game and kicked off at 2pm. We took the lead after Ash Higgins followed up a good effort by Nathan. However Tranmere equalised in the second half when their captain scored one of the best goals I’ve ever seen. He turned and shot on the volley from 30 yards out and it just flew into the top corner. The game finished 1-1 which was a fair result with both sides playing good football.
