Power Keen To Make Max-imum Impact At Rovers

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Max Power is keen to make a big impact in his first season as a professional.

The youngster joins the first-team squad for pre-season training later this month after signing his first professional deal at the end of last season.

And he has ambitions to establish himself in Les Parry’s match-day squad as soon as possible.

“I can’t wait to get back now,” he told www.tranmererovers.co.uk.

“All the hard work begins at the start of July. I want to come back flying, have a good pre-season and be pushing for a starting place at the beginning of the season.”

“I’ve had two pre-seasons here and I know how tough they are. But hopefully each year it gets easier and I can take the bull by the horns and be in contention.”

“I know we’ve got a strong midfield with John Welsh, Joss Labadie and Robbie Weir so I’m not expecting to play every week, but I’m here to fight for a position. I just can’t wait to get started.”

“I look up to John Welsh, he’s the captain of the club and he’s like a one man team at times with the tackles he puts in, in midfield. Joss has got good experience of being at a higher level with West Brom and Robbie has with Sunderland, so I look up to all three of them.”

“I’ve scored quite a lot of goals at reserve and youth level and I think I’ve got that to bring to the table. I know I’ve got a lack of experience but I’ve got the no fear factor as well.”

“The Manager said I’ve worked hard for the contract but there are a few things to work on which is true. I need to work on the discipline side of things which I’m going to because I know I can’t afford to be getting sent off in games and missing games through suspension.”
