Crawley Town have been granted permission to speak to Sheffield United Academy Manager John Pemberton about their vacant Manager’s position.
Pemberton is set to meet with the League Once Club this week who have been left managerless by Sean O’Driscoll’s switch to Nottingham Forest last week.
Pemberton’s only previous managerial experience was in a caretaker capacity at Forest during the 2008-09 season.
He is held in high esteem by Blades fans after leading the Club’s youth-team to their first ever FA Youth Cup Final in 2011.
They lost the final 6-2 on aggregate to Manchester United but won many admirers by beating several Premier League sides en-route to the final.
Crawley have turned to Pemberton after Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth rejected the opportunity to speak to them on Tuesday.
