Moonlighting

Jenny Flowers (L) & Lindsay Hayes (R)

In the early hours of Saturday June 7th most of you will be tucked up asleep in bed, but not LFE’s Lindsay Hayes and Jenny Flowers. The intrepid members of LFE’s administration staff will be walking overnight to raise funds for local charity St Catherine’s Hospice.

The 2nd annual Moonlight Walk starts at midnight from Lancashire Police HQ and will see a 2,500 strong group of ladies walking 13.1 miles for the Hospice. The walkers hope to beat last year’s total, a staggering £250,000, all of which went to support the invaluable work of the Hospice.

Based in Preston close to LFE’s main office, St Catherine’s Hospice provides palliative care for the people of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. This year it will cost £3.6 million to run the Hospice of which £2.5 million has to be raised by voluntary fundraising. This equates to £4.75 per minute.

Lindsay and Jenny hope to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause. For more details and for a gallery of photographs from the 2007 walk see the link below.
