Millwall’s U18’s played their part in a seven goal thriller in Group 5 of the Youth Alliance Cup on Saturday against Wycombe Wanderers.
Unhappily for the Lions it was Chairboys who came away with the victory after fighting back in the closing stages with a double salvo.
Strikes from Jake Gallagher, John Marquis and Hassan Janneh looked to have put Scott Fitzgerald’s charges on the brink of victory but a later flurry from a determined Wycombe side saw them home.
Having beaten QPR and Aldershot in their first two games of the League Cup, Fitzgerald’s side are, however, still in with a chance of progressing to the knock-out stage if they can beat Southend United at home this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Wycombe will take on Aldershot at home this Saturday and will be looking to add another victory to their Cup run in the group stages having already beaten QPR and Southend United.
