Gradi Keen To Extend Westwood Stay

Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi is expecting Ashely Westwood to commit to a new deal this week.

Gradi is keen to tie the talented youngster to a long-term deal despite the Westwood still having nearly two years to run on his present deal.

The versatile 20 year old, who can play at full-back and in midfield, is now expected to sign a new deal this week with Gradi saying:

“I have spoken to Westy and he will sign a new contract this week. I am expecting him to hit the ground running after the work he has done over the summer.”

Gradi added: “I will be speaking to one or two others as well because a few are out of contract at the end of next season.”
