Former Preston North End defender Fred Holtom reckons he is far from your average footballer after joining Japanese telecommunications giant Fujitsu as an apprentice accountant.
After two years in Lancashire, Fred who hails from Solihull left Deepdale in the summer of 2012 and immediately reset his goals.
With a clear focus on gaining working experience while learning new skills, the one time central defender elected to follow in his Mum’s footsteps.
That move has taken him down a road that will eventually (when fully qualified) lead a job as a management accountant.
With Create Your Legacy drawing ever closer, Fred took the time to speak to LFETV to reflect back on a “great two years” at North End, his footballing regrets, subsequent transition into a new career and his new “five year” plan for success:
