Freedman Denies Clyne To United Speculation

Crystal Palace Manager Dougie Freedman says he has heard nothing about Crystal Palace being in talks with Manchester United over Nathaniel Clyne.

Reports emanating from media at the weekend, linked the Palace right-back, who is out of contract in the summer, with a move to the Premier League Champions.

But Freedman denied that there has been any approach and will play Clyne, who has missed the last four games due to a combination of being rested and illness, against Cardiff tomorrow if fit.

“There has not been one single approach for one of my players so, so far so good,” Freedman told the Croydon Guardian.

“Professionally, young Nathaniel is fine and our relationship is fantastic. If he is fit and he is on form then he will play as he has contributed to the team’s defence.”

“We have kept many clean sheets this year and he has been involved in them.”

“The game may make Premier League Clubs more aware of him but it is something I am not too concerned about right now, he will play in a unit that will hopefully defend our lead.”
