Forest Confirm Brazil Appointment

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the permanent appointment of Gary Brazil as academy manager.

Brazil, who had been filling the role on an interim basis, following Nick Marshall’s departure from the City Ground last season, helped guide the club’s Under 18s to last year’s FA Youth Cup final and is keen to continue in the same vein.

The hard work really starts now for me and for my staff. We have massive potential within the Academy and it is up to us now to realise that,” Brazil told Forest’s official website.

Our aim is to provide players for Charlie McParland’s Under-21 group and ultimately send them on to feature in the first team for Billy Davies.

“It was great to see the chairman (Fawaz Al Hasawi) at the FA Youth Cup game (against Charlton) and I know that both he and the manager have a lot of support for the academy.

“My role will change slightly as I’m now a permanent fixture at the football club. Hopefully we’ll make improvements in the coming months and we can really take the academy forward.”
