Warren Clarke is the latest Sheffield Wednesday starlet to be handed a professional deal part-way through his apprenticeship.
The 17-year-old midfielder has agreed a deal to keep him at Hillsborough until June 2018.
Fellow Owls youngsters Matt Penney and Connor Kirby have already committed their futures to the club.
“I’m so pleased that I have got my contract early,” Clarke said. “I’ve been here for five years and this is the place I want to be.
“This is the first hurdle and I’ve still got a long way to go. It’s great that Sheffield Wednesday have the belief in me to give me a professional contract.
“Now I need to push myself as far as I can go. I’m a box-to-box midfielder and like to get on the ball, play it simple and get a goal when I can.
“Dean Ramsdale (Academy Manager) and Steven Haslam (Lead Professional Development Phase Coach) have helped me so much to get to where I am today and I want to thank them for that.”
