Coventry City have announced that three of their rising stars have penned new deals with the club.
Defender Jordan Clarke has penned a deal which will see him stay at Ricoh Arena until the summer of 2014 while Sean Jeffers and Callum Wilson have both been given another two-years at the club.
Clarke made 22 appearances for the Sky Blues last term while Jeffers who is an England Under-19 International has enjoyed loan spells with both Cheltenham Town and Cambridge United.
Wilson is yet to make his full debut for City having appeared just once as a substitute.
Manager Andy Thorn told the club’s website:
“These three lads have all progressed through our academy and it is encouraging to see that we are producing the sort of talent that can feed the first-team squad.”
“In the days of so many loan players, there is no question that supporters prefer to see players progressing through the ranks.”
He added:
“It is vital for a club like ours to produce our own home-grown talent which can supplement players we bring in, and equally important that young players are seen to be given a real crack at the first team, because that will encourage others to join.”
