Bolger Ready For Action With Bristol Rovers

Leicester City youngster Cian Bolger has joined League One Bristol Rovers on a one-month loan deal.

The highly rated teenage defender moved straight into Dave Penney’s squad for Rovers home game against Hartlepool United last night.

And the 18-year-old Irishman found himself up against some familiar faces after spending last week with Hartlepool. A prospective loan move to the Victoria ground did not however go ahead and that has now been the Pirates gain.

Bolger was an Apprentice at Leicester City before turning professional and was named as their academy player of the season in 2007-08.

He has made regular Reserve team appearances for the Championship Club but has yet to make his Football League debut, although the Dubliner has played Under-19 football for the Republic of Ireland.

“This is my first time out on loan and it’s a huge step up from Youth and Reserve team football, but one I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait,” said Bolger.
