Blake Hopes For Wales Future For Flynn

Cardiff City youngster Darcy Blake has targeted many more Wales caps after being handed his debut on Tuesday night against Switzerland in the Euro 2012 qualifier.

The youngster was given his opportunity by caretaker boss Brian Flynn after impressing in the U21’s.

And despite being substituted after 55 minutes in the 4-1 defeat which leaves Wales bottom of Group G the youngster is hopeful that Flynn will be given the job on a permanent basis to bring on the nation’s young stars:

“It was great to be named in the starting line-up but the result is disappointing. I don’t think we deserved to lose 4-1,” said Blake.

“They were sloppy goals but hopefully Brian will now get the job and we can work on that. I spoke to a few of the other boys and they hope he gets the job as well.”

“I have worked with him since I was in the Under-17s and he is a good manager. Hopefully, when he gets more time with the boys the results will flood in like he has shown with the Under-21s.”
