Bungees!

Monday morning and we were in the gym for the usual Monday weight session. The mood was good despite our 2-1 defeat away to Oldham at the weekend as we were the better side. The big FA Youth Cup tie against West Brom at Deepdale was approaching, and everyone was bristling with anticipation.

Firstly we did some squatting and then some eccentric work, which included using bungee ropes to hold us back whilst we jumped. This is designed to make it easier for us when we jump in games and training, this was coupled with some hurdle work. After we finished weights we went outside to do some speed work with Geoff. The bungees were involved again, this time we were hooked to a partner and had to sprint away while the rope was tense. It was very hard work, but great fun!

After this the first years did some work in the logbooks and then we went back to the digs. Coaching at night was different, with the pitches being in such a state there was nowhere for the young lads to train. So we took the younger age group inside and did some video analysis with the older lads.
