A Trip To Amsterdam

Day 5 – This day was by far the hardest day of them all, but one of the most enjoyable days we have had as a team. A fair bit of fitness was involved which is never a good thing! There was no Jean Paul today but we were promised we would see him again before the end of the trip.

After training we returned to the hotel for a quick bite and then it was straight off to Amsterdam. The long and anticipated trip that we had been waiting for since our arrival in Holland. We had a couple of hours to look around Amsterdam – I personally loved Amsterdam city and wouldn’t mind visiting again.

The Ajax Arena was our next destination to watch them in action against Chelsea. It was a thoroughly dull match but was good to see some fellow players with similar ages doing well for both teams.

Day 6 – Our final training session in Utrecht was an enjoyable light session. This was due to a few injuries being picked up along the way and we needed a strong squad for the matches the following week.

I was really enjoying the session until I pulled my groin and had to sit out the rest of the session. Luckily the physio said it’s nothing serious and I should be fully fit by the beginning of next week, ready for the matches.

It has been a really good week so far and was good to see how the Dutch coach football and hopefully we can take some of the information on board and develop new ideas.

After training we went into Utrecht again and had a longer look around the shops there. We came back and relaxed at the hotel and packed up all our stuff before dinner. It has been an excellent week and we are all looking foward to the final week ahead of us.
