You Said, We Did

League Football Education is committed to continuous improvement for the benefit of Apprentices and Clubs. Listening to the views of Apprentices, Clubs and Education Providers is a critical part of this.

2011-12 Sporting Chance Feedback Questionnaire

2011-12 Sporting Chance Feedback Questionnaire

The Sporting Chance presentations made in 2010-11 received such outstanding feedback that LFE was very keen to extend the programme delivery into 2011-12.

Presentations were again made by Chris Mordue, who was accompanied by an ex-professional player who had used Sporting Chance. 40 Clubs were visited covering 600 Apprentices between October 2011 and March 2012.

Apprentice Feedback

The overall feedback from 552 Apprentices was ‘Outstanding’. The impact it had on Apprentices is powerfully evident in their comments, showing the significant learning that has occurred and the degree to which personal reflection was made.

  • 80% rated the presentation from Chris Mordue as ‘Outstanding’.
  • The average score for Apprentices’ knowledge and understanding prior to the session was 6.15 (out of 10) increasing to 8.79 after the session.
  • 75% stated that they would change the way they manage their lifestyle as a result of the session.

Club Feedback

The overall feedback from 42 Club staff was also ‘Outstanding’. The impact it had is also evident in their positive comments, which convey the real benefits to their Apprentices and to the Club.

  • 93% rated the presentation from Chris Mordue as ‘Outstanding’.
  • 98% stated they would be interested in a visit from Sporting Chance every 2 years, with several suggesting annual visits.

LFE would like to thank all those who responded.

2011-12 FE Choices Employer Satisfaction Survey

2011-12 FE Choices Employer Satisfaction Survey

LFE has been awarded a near perfect score of 9.5 out of 10 by an independent survey commissioned by the Skills Funding Agency. The FE Choices ‘Employer Satisfaction’ questionnaire was conducted by Ipsos Mori with 55 Clubs at the end of last season.

This year’s result was LFE’s best ever, improving on our previous scores of 9.4 (2010) and 9.03 (2009) and was confirmation from Clubs of our excellent working relationships with them.

LFE would again like to thank all those Clubs who responded to this important survey.

2010-2011 NVQ Standardisation Meeting Questionnaires

2010-2011 NVQ Standardisation Meeting Questionnaires

There were 12 regional NVQ Standardisation Meetings held during the 2010-11 season, as follows: -

North West: 4/10/10 & 31/1/11
North East: 11/10/10 & 24/01/11
Midlands: 5/10/10 & 01/02/11
East: 19/10/10 & 08/02/11
London: 18/10/11 & 07/02/11
South West: 20/10/10 & 02/02/11

Hard copy questionnaires were issued to Club staff and Assessors so that feedback could be collected on the day.

Responses were as follows: -

  • 238 Attendees
  • 203 Questionnaires returned
  • 85% Return rate percentage

Feedback

The feedback was excellent once again with the vast majority of scores to all questions either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. In particular, the following most important questions received the highest scores since 2008: -

  • ‘How effective was the meeting in sharing good practice’; and
  • ‘How confident do you feel in transferring or applying any of the issues discussed at the meeting in your role?’

You Said: We Did

The improvements made since the 2010 feedback report have made a positive impact in terms of higher ratings, with nearly all questions showing an improvement (one retained the same rating). This could also be due to regular attendees’ familiarity of the agenda, more experience of the meetings, increased understanding of processes, which could have slightly reduced the impact of subsequent meetings for some. This is a natural progression as Club staff and other Assessors gain more experience and develop practice.

LFE would like to thank all those who attended the meetings and responded, which has helped us to identify what works best and make improvements. The following link provides a summary of the key feedback ratings and shows how LFE has responded to improve the meetings.

2010-11 Sporting Chance Feedback Questionnaire

2010-11 Sporting Chance Feedback Questionnaire

The Sporting Chance Clinic presentations made to nearly 600 apprentices at 40 clubs in 2010-11 received such outstanding feedback and continued demand that LFE was very keen to extend the programme delivery into 2011-12.

Presentations were again made by Chris Mordue, who was accompanied by an ex-professional player who had used the Sporting Chance Clinic. Another 37 Clubs were visited covering almost 600 apprentices between September 2010 and March 2011 to complete the 2nd phase, making a total coverage of 77 clubs and well over 1100 apprentices. Response rates were: –

  • 516 (86%) apprentices
  • 51** *(100%) club staff *some clubs returned more than one questionnaire for their presentation.

The overall feedback from apprentices is ‘outstanding’ for all aspects. The impact it had on Apprentices is powerfully evident in their comments, showing the significant learning that has occurred and the degree to which personal reflection and commitment to lifestyle changes were made.

The overall feedback from Club staff is also ‘outstanding’ for all aspects. The impact it had is also evident in their positive comments, which convey the real benefits to their apprentices, which then benefits the Club.

LFE would like to thank all those who responded, which has also helped us to identify and make improvements to this season’s presentations. The following link provides a summary of the key feedback ratings and shows how LFE has responded to improve the presentation.

Self-Assessment Report Questionnaire

Self-Assessment Report Questionnaire

As LFE receives Government Funding to support the Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence programme, we are required by The Skills Funding Agency, The Welsh Government and OFSTED to produce an annual Self-Assessment Report.

This contains a number of specific judgements about LFE’s performance and the quality of the ASE programme we manage in England and Wales.

These judgements are largely based on feedback received from a range of key stakeholders (the most important being apprentices, clubs and education providers), LFE performance data, achievements and improvements made throughout the year.

LFE produced its draft annual Self-Assessment Report in August 2011 and then asked 2nd Year apprentices, clubs and education providers to let us know the extent to which they agreed with these performance judgements (or not, as the case may be!).

LFE is pleased to share these results with you. The target was to achieve minimum response rates of 200 2nd Year apprentices (31%), 20 clubs (29%) and 20 education providers (40%). Actual response rates were: –

  • 232 (36%) of Apprentices
  • 24 (35%) of Clubs
  • 20 (40%) of Education Providers

As usual, LFE would like to thank all those who took the time to respond to this crucial survey, without which LFE would not be able to substantiate its Self-Assessment Report.
