York City’s Josh Archer Bowls His Way Into the Record Books

York City youth-team goalkeeper Josh Archer has taken his place in the record books after taking five wickets in five balls for Dunnington in the HPH York Vale Cricket League.

The 17-year-old, who is hoping to make a living in football as a stopper, turned strike bowler to blow away the Burton Salmon batsmen during a recent fixture covered by the York Press.

Archer finished with figures of 8-2 & 16-6 as Salmon were all out for 113. No bowler has achieved Archer’s feat in first-class cricket.
