Grimsby Town have announced that former Youth team boss Neil Woods will become Manager until the end of the 2010-11 season following Mike Newell’s exit.
Woods, who has been in temporary charge since Newell left over a month ago, has impressed enough to be given the post permanently.
The Club interviewed for the Manager’s position last week and Woods, who was one of the six candidates interviewed, has now been charged with saving the Blundell Park Club from relegation to the Blue Square Premier.
Grimsby have lost one and drawn three of their four League Two matches under Woods’ command, including the 0-0 draw at relegation-rivals Lincoln on Saturday.
The point still leaves the Mariners in the relegation zone but just two points from safety.
