Southampton striker Jamie White has joined Blue Square South outfit Eastleigh on a one-month loan deal.
The 20 year old, who won LFE’s Apprentice of the Month award (Dec 2007), has been battling back to fitness after suffering a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle playing for the Saints Reserves in January.
White had a spell on loan with Shrewsbury Town last season and signed a new contract at Southampton over the summer.
Eastleigh boss Ian Baird told Southern Daily Echo:
“I’ve been trying to get Jamie for the last two years but, for one reason or another, he’s always been out of my reach.”
“I spoke to (first team coach) Wally Downes, who said Saints were looking to get some lads out for regular first-team football.
“Jamie White’s agent was trying to get him out on loan to a league Club, but it hasn’t happened, so it’s great he’s coming to us.
