Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of striker Theo Robinson from Watford for an undisclosed fee.
The 20 year old scored seven times in 22 games on loan at Southend United last season and has signed a three-year deal with the Terriers.
The West Yorkshire Club are understood to have beaten off competition from several Championship and League One Clubs to secure their fifth summer signing.
Southend were unable to meet Watford’s reported £275,000 asking price and it had appeared Robinson had agreed to join Swindon Town.
The Robins revealed their disappointment that a deal fell through early last week.
Robinson told the Club’s official website:
“I want to play regularly and I believe that the Club can progress to the Championship, which I want to be a part of.”
“Huddersfield is a big club with a genuine ambition to play in that division, which is where I want to be.”
