Vale Release Raglan

Port Vale have released defender Charlie Raglan prior to the completion of the League Two season.

Valiants boss Micky Adams has ‘reluctantly’ decided to let the teenager, a first-year professional at Vale Park, go as he plans ahead for next season.

“Charlie signed a one-year deal at the start of the season and we would have expected him to have progressed into the first team but he hasn’t done so,” Adams told the club’s official website.

“He has been out on loan to a couple of clubs, where he has done very well, so it is not the end of his footballing career.”

“It is just that at this moment in time we can’t offer him a deal for next season so we have reluctantly released him.”

Raglan came through Vale’s Apprenticeship programme this time last summer but has spent much of this term out on loan at Hinckley Utd and Chasetown.
