MK Dons striker Sam Baldock has described his first international experience for England’s U20’s as unforgettable.
The Dons striker, who has come through the ASE programme, was introduced as a substitute in the 4–0 defeat against Ghana as England looked to freshen up their attack.
Baldock told the Club’s official website:
“It was a tough game, Ghana were the better team on the night and deserved to win, but perhaps not by four goals. The result was disappointing, but it was a night I’ll never forget. I’ve trained hard with the squad for the last two weeks so to come on and win my first cap was a great feeling.”
“We had a chance or two early in the game, but once we were chasing it after half-time we were always susceptible to being caught at the other end. We’ve got to put it behind us now though. We’ve got another game on Friday that we have to win to stand any chance of qualifying so we’ll be putting everything into it.”
