Watford’s Adam Thompson has signed his first professional contract with the Club after agreeing a deal until the summer of 2013.
Still in the second year of his Apprenticeship, Thompson now 18 made his debut for the Club in a League Cup defeat by Notts County in August, and recently won LFE’s Apprentice of the Month award for September 2010.
Thompson who can play at full back or centre-half has represented Northern Ireland at U18 level.
Watford Manager, Malky Mackay, said: “We feel there is potential in Adam and he has earned this contract. If he keeps on working hard it could be good for both Adam and Watford.”
He becomes the fifth Apprentice to sign a professional deal this season. Fellow second years Jonathan Bond and Gavin Massey and first-year Apprentices Sean Murray and Jack Bonham have also signed pro terms.
