Huddersfield Town youngster Brodie Spencer has penned his first professional contract, agreeing a deal until June 2024.
The 17-year-old joined the Terriers from Northern Irish side Cliftonville last summer and quickly found a home at right-back in the Under-17 side last season, before progressing up the age groups.
Spencer, who can also play in central midfield, earned a spot in Huddersfield’s B Team squad for the 2021/22 campaign, while he also recently made his international debut for Northern Ireland Under-19s.
Emyr Humphreys, Academy Manager, told the club website: “Brodie thoroughly deserves his first professional contract, which is a huge achievement for every aspiring young footballer.
“He’s enjoyed a really impressive first year at the club. Above all else, he embodies the competitive attitude that we want to see from all our players, and he combines that with a massive appetite to learn and improve.
“The B Team will be a real test for him this season, but he’s already shown that he can play the level. We’re really excited about Brodie’s potential, but his challenge is to keep working hard and improving to fulfil it.”
