Former Apprentices Theo Stair and Ed Eley have joined Eastwood Town as Badgers boss Paul Cox looks to strengthen his squad.
Stair was an Apprentice at Crewe Alexandra while Eley was at Grimsby Town.
Speaking to the Club’s official website about the signings, Cox said:
“Theo is an attacking midfielder who can play on the wings or behind the strikers, he has been training with us for the last eight weeks as I told him that he needed to improve his fitness.”
“I first heard of Theo when I sold Junior Daniel to Crewe, at the time he was getting rave reviews but he has not realised his potential for one reason or another. However, I have decided to give him his chance now as he has worked really hard in training and possesses bags of technical ability with a lovely left foot.”
“I wanted to bring in another keeper because of the injury situation with Ian Deakin, we are exposed in that position with only Jan Budtz being fit.”
“Eley has good references, is 6ft 4ins and has just been released from his professional contract with Grimsby Town following a loan spell with Mansfield Town, he has also trained with us and like Theo, he is a local lad.”
Stair was an unused substitute in Eastwood’s 4-3 defeat at Northwich on Saturday, while Eley was not involved.
