Spireites Seven Goal Thriller

Chesterfield

As Chesterfield’s first team continued its busy pre-season schedule, Dave Bentley’s young charges began their programme with an away game against Hucknall Town last Thursday evening followed by trips to Glapwell FC and Teversal FC.

A seven goal thriller at Teversal gave the young Chesterfield side a boost after falling victim to an experienced Glapwell FC on Saturday and a powerful Hucknall squad on Monday evening.

Six players made the score sheet in a game dominated by Chesterfield, with goals from first year Apprentices Josh Wright, Jordan Burrow, Matthew Needham and Jordan Edridge and second years Sandy Moller and Tendayi Darikwa.

16 year old striker Josh Wright proved his worth with two goals on his first outing for the Spireites, the first on 29 minutes from close range and the second on 64 minutes.
