Sheffield United have completed an emergency loan deal for Blackpool winger Matt Phillips.
The former Wycombe Wanderers Apprentice has fallen down the pecking order at Bloomfield Road and joins Danny Wilson’s Blades for a month.
Phillips moved to Blackpool in the summer of 2010 and impressed last term in the club’s first ever season in the Premier League.
The club were relegated in May and Phillips has found first-team appearances hard to come by this term.
He moves to Bramhall Lane with Ian Holloway keen for him to see first team action.
“I’ve told Danny Wilson he can have them for 28 days and, if it goes well, I’ll get my blokes back flying,” Holloway told Blackpool’s club website.
“I want Matt to regain the total confidence he had in himself last year. Wherever I played him he was great.”
“He scored from right-back against Blackburn. He played right wing at Manchester City and ripped their left-back apart, but he doesn’t look quite the same at the moment.”
