Brighton & Hove Albion have appointed Simon Rusk as the Club’s new Youth Team Coach.
The 30-year-old former Scottish under-18 international joins the Club from Crawley Town.
Rusk will oversee the development of the Club’s Apprentices and manage Albion’s under-18 team, reporting to Head of Youth Football Martin Hinshelwood.
Albion’s Head of Football Operations David Burke commented, “A number of the staff and myself had been aware of Simon since he retired from playing last year and became Centre of Excellence coach at Crawley.”
“He is an enthusiastic young coach with new ideas and excellent coaching credentials, but most importantly he fits the profile of the type of coach we wanted to recruit.”
Rusk began his career with his hometown team Peterborough United, and also played for Boston United, Northwich Victoria, York City and Crawley Town.
He retired from playing at the end of the 2010-11 to take up the coaching role with Crawley.
