Rooney Up For Goalscoring Award!

Macclesfield Town youngster John Rooney has been shortlisted for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy – Goal of the Round competition after his fabulous goal for the Silkmen against Carlisle United in the second round.

For the first time in its history, the trophy has created an Ultimate Finish competition, where 10 great strikes from each round are captured on video and placed on the competition’s official website for fans to vote on.

Fans are asked to view exclusive video footage displayed on the website, featuring John’s effort, while a panel of football experts will select the best goal from the top goals scored.

The best goal will be announced on the website and all fans that vote for the same winning goal will be shortlisted into a prize draw. Each round, the winning goalscorer will be presented with a “Johnstone’s Paint Ultimate Finish Award” and one lucky entrant will win an iPod Nano.

To register your vote for John please log onto www.johnstonespainttrophy.com and vote for your top goal from the round two games played on 6th October 2009.
