PNE’s Scott Leather Commits to Altrincham

Ex Preston North End Apprentice Scott Leather has signed for Blue Square Bet North outfit Altrincham.

Local lad Leather who hails from Sale in Manchester was released by Preston in the summer and can operate as a right back or central defender.

He featured for the Robins in their pre-season game against Morecambe on Tuesday night and will now hope to help the Moss Lane club regain their status in the Blue Square Premier after a year in the Northern division.

Leather made two League appearances at Deepdale while at Preston and has also trialled at Barrow this summer.
