Former Bristol City Apprentice Tristan Plummer’s late penalty earned Hereford United a valuable point in Saturday’s match after Port Vale had dominated much of the game.
Loan star Plummer rifled in his second penalty in four days after Richard Rose had been brought down by John McCombe.
The spot-kick came after the hosts had taken the lead against the run of play, Mark Pugh running past two players and firing in.
Vale, who had hit the bar twice, drew level when Louis Dodds rifled home and took the lead through Robert Taylor’s drive, but they could not hold on.
