Picton Joins Harrogate Town

Former Scunthorpe United youngster Jake Picton has joined Blue Square North Club Harrogate Town after the demise of Ilkeston Town due to financial problems.

The young central defender joined Ilkeston in the summer after spending a loan spell with Gainsborough Trinity in the Conference North last season.

Town Boss Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: “We want to develop him here. He was recommended to me by Tony Daws who is Reserve Manager at Scunthorpe.”

“We’re glad to get hold of him and over a period of time hopefully he’ll turn into a very good player for us.”
