Philips Aims For Euro Glory

Wycombe Wanderers’ Matt Phillips hopes that he can make the next step with England’s Under-19 squad as they aim for Euro glory.

The 19 year old winger has set his sights on being included in Noel Blake’s squad for the finals to be played in France later this summer.

A late edition to Blake’s squad for the elite qualifying rounds, Phillips impressed on his full debut, scoring in the team’s 4-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Speaking to Wycombe Wanderers official website, he said:

“My aim now is to be involved in the European Championships.”

“There are going to be some big teams in the tournament, including the likes of France, and I would love the opportunity to test myself against the best players in the world at my age.”
