Penney Wants Eaves Commitment

Oldham Athletic Manager Dave Penney has confirmed that he will not pick highly-rated youngster Tom Eaves until he signs a new contract at the Boundary Park Club.

The 18 year old, who is still an Apprentice at the Club has yet to start a senior game for the Latics but has impressed as a substitute and has been offered a new deal.

However, talks have stalled so Eaves was left out of the squad which lost 3-0 at Yeovil on Saturday.

Speaking about Eaves’ omission from his squad Penney said:

“Tom wasn’t with us because he won’t sign a contract with us and he won’t be playing for us until he does.”
