Martin Looking To Repeat Success

Norwich City striker Chris Martin is confident that the Canaries will not find goals hard to come by this season.

Speaking after the Club’s 4-1 defeat of Gillingham on Tuesday, in which he and strike partner Grant Holt both grabbed a brace, the youngster stressed that both he and Holt would be happy to see their team-mates pitch in to improve the goals for column.

Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk, Martin said:

“I don’t think we’re going to be relied on to score. I think there’s plenty of people that will bring goals to the team.”

The duo netted 51 times between them last season in all competitions and while Martin is happy for others to chip in, he knows a repeat return this year would be good news for the Canaries.

“If we can score as many goals as we did last year we know we’re doing something right, especially in the Championship,” he said.

“If we can spur each other on to score more goals that’s only a positive for the team.”
