Malbon On The Mark At Leek

Port Vale Apprentice Anthony Malbon has joined UniBond League Division One South club Leek Town on work experience terms.

Malbon was Vale’s Youth team Player of the Year in the 2008-09 season when he scored twenty-three goals.

He has also made one first team appearance as a substitute for the Vale in May 2009 against Barnet but with Manager Micky Adams now keen for the youngster to gain experience of senior football he has moved out to Leek.

The 18 year old striker was denied his Blues debut when the fixture at Kidsgrove Athletic last Tuesday suffered a late postponement but he celebrated his debut netting twice in the 3-1 win over Carlton Town on Saturday.
