Magennis Loan Spell With Mariners

Grimsby Town have signed Cardiff City striker Josh Magennis on a one-month loan.

The 19 year old came through the ASE programme at City has played eight times for the Bluebirds this season and went straight into the Mariners’ squad to face Rochdale on Saturday.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international appeared for his country against Iceland in a European Championship qualifier on Tuesday.

Magennis started his Apprenticeship as a goalkeeper but switched to become a forward in 2008. He scored his first goal for Cardiff during their 3-1 Carling Cup win against Bristol Rovers in August.
