Former Charlton Athletic youngster Sam Long has joined Blue Square South Club Dover Athletic from Ryman League Premier Division outfit Croydon Athletic.
Long, who started season with former Addicks team-mate Ben Godfrey at Croydon, joins the Dover after spending time at Gillingham, Histon and Tonbridge Angels last season.
Speaking about his new signing, Manager Martin Hayes, said:
“Sam is very much in the mould of Harry Baker (ex Leyton Orient Apprentice) and we’re delighted to get him here.”
“We were interested in signing this lad in the summer but it wasn’t possible. Now we’ve got our man and have the options on the wing that I like. He gives us something different.”
Long added:
“The goal for myself this year is to play as much as I can and score as many goals as I can, hopefully then, in the long-term, I can get back into the Football League.”
