Cambridge United boss Martin Ling is waiting on permission from Charlton Athletic to use Alex Stavrinou in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round clash with Lewes.
The young midfielder on-loan from the Addicks has starred in his first two games for the U’s since his loan move.
And with Ling keen to utilise the youngster talents on Saturday he has already made overtures to Charlton boss Phil Parkinson about the players availability for the tie.
“Alex has done well in his first two games,” Ling told Cambridge News.
“He’s added an ingredient that has helped the side and we’ll be pleased if we can have him available.”
“I know Phil Parkinson well, but I’d watched Alex play a couple of times for Ebbsfleet and Charlton Reserves. I’d seen him with my own eyes and knew he’d add something to the team.”
“Our last two performances have been credible and he’s been part and parcel of that. He’s got a goal as well [against Fleetwood], so things couldn’t have gone any better for him.”
