LFE Hits Swedish Headlines

Sweden

LFE’s Dan Jolley and Rob Hezel have hit the headlines on Swedish news website ‘Dagbladet’ while visiting football clubs in the Scandinavian country.

They met with Ange IF Head Coach Peter Stenberg today to discuss opportunities for players released at the end of their Apprenticeship.

Having recently secured funding from the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme, LFE have joined the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme which will allow us to build partnerships and offer opportunities for Apprentices to work in Europe.

LFE Bloggers Rhys Darg (Ange IF) and Toby Davis (Umea FC) are the first players to benefit from the Leonardo Programme.

LFE Project Manager Dan Jolley said,

“So far we only have two players in Sweden, but when there is approximately 350 young people who don’t receive a professional contract at their clubs each year, there’s plenty more to channel out.”

LFE hope to exchange with other clubs in Europe with the aid of the EU funding. Dan and Rob will also visit Umea FC along with other Clubs in the hope that new partnerships can be formed in Europe to further enhance the Apprentice experience.
