Leeds Left-Back Thanks Warnock

Charlie Taylor is hoping that he can follow Stephen Warnock’s advice to secure the left-back position in the Leeds United first-team.

The 21-year-old, who was until recently competing with Warnock, expressed his gratitude to the former England International who moved on from Elland Road to join Derby last week.

“A big positive of this season was being able to learn from Stephen Warnock,” Taylor told the clubs match-day magazine.

“I learned off him every day in training in terms of positional work or what to do. He would talk me through things and that advice helped me a lot as a player.”

Taylor who won LFE’s Goal of the Season competition in 2011 has also benefited from being able to call upon the guidance of head coach Neil Redfearn, who previously worked with him as an Academy player.

“The gaffer knows me inside out. He knows all the kids at this club and has helped us all, plus the lads coming through,” added Taylor.
