Kick it Out – Week of Action 2008

LFE is pleased to announce that we will be working in conjunction with Kick It Out once more during The Week of Action 2008. This year it will take place between 16th – 28th October.

Various initiatives will be run by LFE that involve Apprentices, Professionals and Football Clubs to celebrate the contribution made to football by black, Asian and other ethnic minorities, whilst reinforcing the message to challenge racism.

The week has a strong community focus and will see some of the games biggest names stand alongside communities across the UK under the banner – ‘One Game, One Community’.

During this period grass roots clubs, schools, community groups and fans join the professional game in coming together for an extended week of symbolic activities promoting inclusion.

In 2007 more than 1000 events took place during the weeks of action, including an anti-racism match day at all 92 professional clubs in England and Wales.

The week of action is the biggest series of activities of their kind in Europe.

Black History Month

The week of action is held during Black History Month and has previously coincided with Ramadan, Diwali and Jewish fesitvals. This enables opportunities for us all to learn about and celebrate these important periods.
