Joyce’s Joy

Torquay United

Torquay United have completed the signing of former Swindon Town striker Ben Joyce on a free transfer.

Formerly an Apprentice at the County Ground, Joyce has been on trial under the watchful eye of Manager Paul Buckle during pre-season and found the net twice in the 4-0 friendly victory over Buckland Athletic on Thursday evening.

The 19 year old made four first team appearances for the Robins before being released by the Club at the end of last season.

Buckle told Torquay United’s official website:

“Ben has been with us a very short time but he has done a great deal to impress me both in the Buckland game and in training.”

“Technically he is very good and he showed against Buckland that he has an eye for goal. Ben has the ability to force his way into the team now and is an excellent prospect for the future.”
