Tranmere Rovers Apprentice Dale Jennings has revealed his delight at signing a two-year professional contract at Prenton Park.
The 17 year old, who made his first team debut this season in the 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic in September, is now tied to Rovers until 2012.
Jennings who has now made seven appearances for the Club scored his first goal, a 20-yard thunderbolt, in last month’s 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers.
“It is a great for me,” said Jennings. “All Apprentices dream of the day they sign their first professional contract.”
“I’m really pleased the Club has given me this opportunity and hopefully I can repay them on the pitch,” added the youngster.
With finances being tight at the League One Club, Manager Les Parry is delighted to have unearthed another gem from the Club’s Youth system.
“Dale has progressed well and doesn’t look out of place in our first team,” said Parry. “He’s only young but he has shown glimpses of his potential so far.”
“And, if he continues to work hard, I’m sure he has a bright future ahead of him.”
