During his time at Nottingham Forest James became the first apprentice nationwide to gain a full ASE framework and has subsequently gained national press recognition for his achievement.
In the summer of 2006 Colin Calderwood rewarded James for his hard work by giving him a professional contract. Despite being a reserve team regular James found it hard to make the break through into a successful Forest side currently residing near the top of League One.
In January 2007 James was released by the club and he is currently putting his Level 2 Coaching Certificate to good effect. He is working in a coaching role while looking for other opportunities with football league clubs.
